LAS VEGAS, NV:     Last week, approximately 150 supermarket retailers packed the Events Center at the Mirage Hotel & Casino to learn about Best Practices for Storewide Shrink Control from Larry Miller – President & CEO of Smart Retail Solutions of Scottsdale, AZ – and special guests Mike Beal – COO of Ball’s Food Stores of Kansas City, KS – and Peter Waldmann – Regional Director of Operations of Lucky’s Market of Niwot, CO.

The Storewide Processes for Measurable Shrink Reduction workshop educated participants on the 4 Vital Building Blocks used by industry leading companies to control shrink loss caused by breakdowns in operational best practices. The workshop’s key focal points included the Vital Role of Inventory Control, Smart Practices for Ordering Efficiency, the 6 Store Operations Profit Drivers, and the Paradigm Shift from Shrink Prevention to Profit Protection.

Mike Beal and Peter Waldmann recapped specific examples of how they implemented Best Practices from the Total Store Manager operations execution training program and the ProfitTrax BI software solution to reduce their total store shrink by an average of 22% and in one case add 83 basis points of new profit to the bottom line. Both Beal and Waldmann shared further insights on encouraging enterprise-wide best practice execution to yield center store out of stock reductions and $34,000 of additional weekly cash flow.
